I bought all 3 Stalker games from a sale years ago and finally got around to play them. I finished Call of Pripyat yesterday and i have to say i absolutely loved them. I played vanilla versions and even tough the jank was there it wasn't as bad as i expected

For the first time last night I completed this game (normal ending thankfully lol) so I have been watching various reviews and videos about the secrets, different ending etc because as satisfied as I was to complete it I'm not motivated to play through any more.

Here's hoping Dino Crisis's great showing in Capcom's recent fan-poll gets it through to them that we fans don't want another Resident Evil Remake we want a Dino Crisis 1 Remake.

It's funny that I've heard so many say Isaac attempting contact after the credits undoes everything. After my first playthrough, I thought this was the end of the series and played on the horror trope of being stuck there. Not to mention the added tragedy of missing being saved by Ellie by apparent minutes. I even remember thinking "you jumped out of there fast, Ellie! Not gonna wait around for an hour or two to see if any signals come back??" To be fair, it matched how fast Isaac slams the door in her face when she's getting gassed though 😂

The worst part about this video is how many people are likely going to skip the room because of it. Frankly I found the story pretty straightforward, the characters explain a ton of it outright near the end. It's definitely the least enjoyable of the first 4, but still a fantastic horror game

only issue with thie video is the Saga, Tor, and Odin stuff. Everything else is personal preference and I agree with some of it, but that reeks of missing crucial dialogue and storybeats somehow. Tor and Odin, but msinly Odin, had a massive fallout with Saga's father, Warlin Door. Because of this Saga's motherbdistances Saga from her grandparents, so she never really met them. Add that to the fact that Door was never really there because of his constant multiverse hopping to eliminate Jack Joyce/Tim Breaker/Shawn Ashmore. That wasn't the horror story, that was just Saga's life. And the reason its important is because Saga is shown to be able to look into people's souls and commune with other seers like her. Her Mind Place isnt a mental technique, this is said multiple times, and it is used to escape from the Dark Place, Saga's lineage is both important and also not what defines her. That's one of the greatest things about her character. I just think its silly to try and say it doesn't make sense or is fan service, especially when the reason given for both of those things is wrong. Honestly that point was the only thing i disagree with on anything other than personal preference. Oh the combat issues were simply a skill issue unfortunately, but that's about it.

I'm a big fan of RE games and I love the originals, the remakes and the last 2 entries ( 7 & 8 ), but I'll rather die than play through RE6 again.

37:50 There are godrays and dynamic volumetric lighting and shadows on ultra settings in Call of Prypiat, I'm 100% sure I've seen them during the sunrise in vanilla game. CoP based on the updated Clear Sky engine, and it still has all the graphics features Clear Sky had. They're just pretty rare to spot because 80% of a playtime there is a cloudy weather. And that's the thing I hate about this game, the cloudy weather is set by default, so it comes every time you're quick loading by F9, and it doesn't matter what weather state there was when you saved the game. Another reason is that CoP has a lot less vegetation than Clear Sky and looks more desert-like, this is the cost of larger locations and optimization.
